You are the next contestant on the “My AMA’Zen Life’ Game Show! Yay! Cheers! Woo-hoo! Congratulations!
I, Cheree Ingram, will be your AMA’Zen Life Game Show coach. I will diligently show you how your life is already pretty amazing and can be AMA’Zen – Always Mindful, Always Zen by practicing MAGIC – Mindfulness, Appreciation & Awe, Gratitude, Intentions and Character Strengths and Core Values. Your challenge if you accept, in order to be a winner, is to earn as many MAGIC points as possible while living your life as you normally would, maybe just kicking it up a notch or two.
My INTENTION is to share with you the multiple ways I earn points so that you gain a stronger understanding of how the game is played. So check out my future blogs and if they get too long-winded or you’re in a hurry, simply scroll to the bottom, get your pearls of wisdom and move on.
Number of Players: Infinite
Number of Potential Winners: Infinite
Prize: Less Stress, Stronger Resilience, Increased Happiness, Higher Life Satisfaction, Longer Life, Better Relationships, and Stronger Immune System. Really, you ask?! Yes, really.
Object of the Game: To earn as many points possible each day.
Game Rules: Every time you catch yourself practicing any of the above MAGIC, you give yourself a point. Below are just broad categories of MAGIC in which you can gain points.
Meditate – 1 point
It does not matter if you meditate for 1 minute or 45 minutes. You sat down and dedicated some time for self care. Give yourself a point.
Appreciation – 1 point
You spend a moment either writing a note of appreciation to someone, you document the reasons you appreciate a person, place or thing or you sit and reflect on someone or something you appreciate. Give yourself a point.
Awe: Big or Small – 1 point
You recognize and embrace your awe experience. Whether it is a glorious sunrise, being awarded two snacks from the vending machine for the price of one, getting all green lights on a heavy trafficked street, finding a nickel on the sidewalk. Give yourself a point.
Gratitude – 5 points
You write in your gratitude journal or maybe you just recollect your gratitude mentally. As long as you are noting at least three different things each day and asking yourself why it is important to you at least 3-5 times, then give yourself 5 points! Note that this is the only item that gets 5 points and that is due to its powerful impact on your life.
Intention – 1 point
You have a vision board, or page and dedicate time activating it. You review your Reflection or practice Segment Intending or journal your intentions for the day in the morning before you start your day. This category has the opportunity to expand broadly as it always includes your intentions such as; fitness exercise, eating healthy, completing your taxes, etc.
Character Strengths – 1 point
You intentionally use or leverage your top Signature Strengths or recognize you used them unintentionally.
Core Values – 1 point
You recognize yourself protecting your core values, using it to give you direction or intentionally satisfying them via some type of activity: play, social or work.
Tracking Points: Any way that best works for you. Daily Planner, Journal, a paper notepad, lipstick on your bathroom mirror, Bullet Journal, or a notepad app on your mobile phone.
